As a long-time shopper of Home Goods both here in Florida as well as other states I have to say this is my least favorite of all the Home Goods stores (and I have been to countless HG locations). During their initial opening phase I excitedly paid a visit to this store only to find a female manager - she may have been a temporary opening manager training new employees - speaking loudly and VERY condescendingly to the cashiers upon checkout. Neither myself or those behind me in line could believe how rude she was. There is a time and a place to discuss with employees various issues that arise and berating them in such a way (and in front of customers, no less) is not the way to do this. Very unprofessional.
I shop home goods frequently in Massachusetts..it's one of my favorite stores!!! I have a winter home in Bonita Springs and I was totally excited when I heard the store was coming ... after visiting the store 3 or 4 times I was totally disappointed..it does not come close to the stores in Massachusetts ... ..whoever your buyers are for this area need some serious attention ..a concerned consumer...Ps. why too much Christmas merchandise!
Nice sale prices, but the sheet sets were tossed randomly on the shelves without any order by size or vendor.
Variety
Over time this store has made vast improvements both in selection and in customer service. I will continue to shop here as it is so convenient and a few of the employees definitely make the experience worthwhile. I'm just wondering when management will learn to be more gracious and kind to its employees. They work hard and deserve some patience and compassion.
I waited several months (and following countless visits to this store) before finally deciding to take the time to write a review. I also wanted to be as objective as possible and sometimes several visits are required before being able to fairly assess a retailer.
That stated, a large majority of the store employees are very nice, very helpful. The store has a decent selection of kitchenware, pet supplies, rugs, furniture pieces, etc. Typical of most HG stores nationwide. This store is in a GREAT location with ample parking and easy access. This store also happens to be the closest location to my home; thus, I do check its selection before heading south to the Naples location on 41 (my favorite HG in this area, by far).
My only major grievance: several months ago I purchased a very thick, plush and HEAVY rug from the Bonita Springs store. The petite woman who helped retrieve the rug and move it on to a cart struggled with it so of course I helped her as no one else seemed to want to. Once we managed to get it through the very compact and maze-like checkout area (another solid dislike about this store is the floorplan that makes it difficult to navigate large purchases to checkout) another gentleman (I believe he may be a manager) took over. Someone should have informed him it's not a good thing to take a $400 white rug and allow it to drag not only across the store floor but also into the parking lot. Needless to say I was not happy. I ended up having to hire a professional carpet cleaner to remedy the edges that had been blatantly dirtied by his carelessness.
Love the store. Had to wait to check out only 1 person working
