This is by far one of the most beautiful places you will see and enjoy in South Florida...Very well preened and kept as a natural Oceanside Nature preserve... Also a popular place to go by kayak or boat from the backwaters... Blessings! Check it out! Awesome!
Live locally. Our favorite beach. We like the last parking area. Walk on beach south from there to Wiggins Pass. A leisurely 25 minute walk or so. All natural surroundings.
Beautiful beach. It's more of a local hangout with less tourists. If you like a quiet beach this is right up your alley
Some comments on previous posts "all shells, hard to walk". Every beach down here, can be anywhere from all shells to no shells, depending on what storms have brought in or dragged out. Usually can walk just fine.
The beach was nice. When we pulled in, i was excited it was not crowded and we parked right by the bathroom, well, when i got out of the car i could smell the bathroom, i held my breath to change into my suit. This bathroom made me wretch. Funny thing was that it was signed off that out had been cleaned that day. You really neef to figure this out, no way this had been cleaned in a very long time folks.
"Turtles everywhere" They are actually land tortoises. Rarely if ever see sea turtles, although they do lay eggs on upper part of beach. Rangers then put the orange snow fence around them.
My favorite beach of all was Vanderbilt Beach until I visited the Barefoot Beach County Preserve. I loved it there. Spacious beach. Great for shell collecting. Water depth increases much faster than Vanderbilt Beach.
